A Perth man’s life and belongings have sold on eBay for $399,000 - far less than he had hoped they were worth. ref: http://www.alife4sale.com/

Ian Usher, 44, has sold his home, vehicles, furniture, the prospect of a job and access to his friends after a seven-day worldwide auction.

He had hoped for $500,000 to start a new life.

Mr Usher said he had not yet found out who the buyer was because he had TV crews lined up waiting to interview him at his home.

“I’m trying to find some time to get on the computer and check it out … I haven’t looked (up) anything about them yet,” he said.

Bidding opened last Sunday with numerous bogus buyers raising the price to more than $2 million, but the British immigrant says he is still happy with the final figure.

He decided to use the internet to sell everything he owns after breaking up with his partner two-and-a-half years ago.

“Despite my life being busy and fulfilled, I still miss my wife,” his website states.

“I intend to walk out of my front door with my wallet in one pocket and my passport in the other, nothing else at all, and get on the train, with no idea where I am going or what the future holds for me.”

In the 100 days leading up to the auction, Mr Usher wrote web dairies and posted videos on the internet of his hobbies, interests and the lifestyle in Perth, to try to attract buyers.

A landlord’s nightmare.

A single guy lived in this townhouse for 8 years in Ogden Utah.  The landlord thought he was the best renter because he never called or complained and was never late on a payment.

These pictures don’t even come close to what it really looked like.

Century 21 Realty had already moved some of the cans out, and they had caved in the tunnels that the renter had made to get to the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen.  All this, yet you still do not see any dust, scattered clothing, or dirty dishes anywhere.

Other than having a minor drinking problem, he was basically a very clean, organized person. Add to this, the fact that he was concerned about his health, proven by the fact that he drank ‘Light’ beer.

Beer cans by the tens of thousands. Mountains of cans burying the furniture. The water and heat were shut off, apparently on purpose by the tenant, who evidently drank Coors Light beer exclusively for the eight years he lived there.

There was an estimated 70,000 beer cans in the townhouse. To accumulate that amount of cans, the resident must have consumed an average of 24 beers a day for the 8 years of his tenancy!!
