These days if you look around its amazing how many people have earphones hanging down as they make their way along listening to whatever takes there fancy. For me it’s great as it’s become a socially acceptable way of just being able to ignore people whenever you like. Is that aterrible thing to say?

My weapon of choice is an iPod Nano (second-generation) 8GB which i stll think is the best one to date. It’s great to just slip away into a different place away from the constant noise and conversations you can’t be bothered or have no interest in listening too.

I know it sounds very anti social and I’m happy to say I’m comfortable with that. I’ve now become very protective of my time and selective of what I spend time listening too and those I interact with. I’m not going to get much from listening to endless stories of another night getting trashed or the trials and tribulations of other people’s lives. If i wanted soap operas id watch TV.

In the mornings as you make your way to the office you can listen to the latest tune, a podcast or even an audio book. It’s empowering to control the time you have available to you. The best part is there are no ads or the endless self indulgent conversations like you hear on the radio these days.

So you can think of your weapon of choice as your personal space device and the best part it fits right in you pocket.
