Thanks to a partnership between Panasonic Toyota Racing and Warner Bros. Pictures, Hollywood is coming to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix weekend to celebrate the release of the event movie of the summer: The Dark Knight.

The Batmobile is around 3m at its widest point, 4.5m long and 1.5m high. It runs on unleaded fuel and weighs 2.5 tons. The vehicle has six wheels - two in the front, outfitted with sprint car race tires, and four at the back, which utilize monster truck tyres. The Batmobile has no front axle. Paris Trip 2008

Citroen showroom Champs-Élysées

Just got back from a trip to Paris France and thought i would post some pictures and information. While in Paris one of the most popular cars was actually the Smart car and i even spotted many Brabus spec ones. They were everywhere and with the traffic and limited amount of car parking available they make good sense. This and the fact that fuel prices are nearly double compared to Australia.

Yes i saw plenty of Porsches, BMW and Mercedes especially the new S-Class, what a sled that is, especially in black with full tint outs. This is the number one vehicle for those wanting the mafia or celeb look on the streets.

Also on the Champs-Élysées which is the most prestigious and broadest avenue in Paris we spotted a few motoring showrooms. The Citroen showroom which was celebrating the 2007 WRC championship was a spectacular multi level display of the the Citroen rally cars. I also ventured into the Peugeot showroom which displayed a few wild concept vehicles.

Both of these showrooms included shops where you could buy anything from key-rings to books, die-cast models and much more. Great to see this type of effort being put in for all the car enthusiasts out there.

2008 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Special Edition Z06

February 28th, 2008 by Mark Griffin | No Comments | Filed in Motoring

Chevrolet announced the 2008 Corvette 427 Limited Edition Z06, a limited-production model that pays homage to the big-block Stingray models of the mid-1960s. The 427 designation refers to the cubic-inch displacement for the highest-performance engines offered between 1966 and ’69 – and is also the cubic-inch equivalent of the Z06’s 7.0L LS7 small-block V-8.

The 427 Limited Edition Z06 features a Crystal Red Tintcoat exterior, the first Z06 ever offered with a red metallic tintcoat paint. It also features graphics on the hood and fascia that evoke the style of the famed “stinger” hood design and graphics that were offered with 1967 models equipped with the 427 engine. Also unique to this model are “427” hood badges. Each example is numbered and signed by Wil Cooksey, the Corvette assembly plant manager who is retiring after 15 years on the job, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
