We visit Dell at Officeworks
Dell Australia announced on May 1 2008 a major retail partnership with Officeworks, in a deal that will see the retailer selling 10 models of the Round Rock, Texas-based company’s laptops and PCs, as well as printers, ink, and flat panel displays.
So we took a walk down to our local officeworks store in East Perth to check out what was on offer. Overall we were dissapointed with the display of the Dell offerings on display both in terms of range and the actual display which was very sterile and lacked any real impact. With all the bright colours now being offered by Dell we were expecting a fresh high impact display but were disappointed. I guess after travelling so much and seeing the Apple stores overseas as an example the supermarket type setup just doesn’t cut it and does not entice us to buy.
Also amazing how many people that were checking out all the laptops from various manufacturers and said “Dell are they any good?” or “how are these compared to the more major brands like Toshiba and Acer?”
