Facebook to buy Twitter

SOCIAL networking company Facebook has recently been in acquisition talks with Twitter, the micro-blogging company, according to a report by the Financial Times.

The negotiations put a valuation of as much as $US500 million ($767 million) on Twitter, which has become one of Silicon Valley’s most closely watched start-ups, the paper said.

The talks, which were first reported by technology news website AllThingsD, were confirmed to the paper by two sources.

Twitter - Changes for Some SMS Users—Good and Bad

Ive had a few people contact me about not receiving SMS updates from Twitter in the last few days. For those of us addicted to twitter and not afraid to admit it the loss of the SMS service for updates to your cell phone if you are in Australia is sad but inevitable to be honest.

Basically it comes down to the SMS costing twitter way to much $$$$, but with twitter clients being available for the iPhone I’m sure we will survive.
