Basically it comes down to the SMS costing twitter way to much $$$$, but with twitter clients being available for the iPhone I’m sure we will survive.

I was lucky enough to transition over to the iPhone shortly before the cessation of Twitter’s SMS updates. If I hadn’t been so lucky I would surely feel very disheartened at being cut off from Twitter when away from my computer.
That’s an example one of the reasons I went with the iPhone 3G, the amount of apps (free & paid) coming out for iPhone, and the iPhone OSX and SDK versatility and support.
The touch screen, slick and intuitive interface is excellent. Meaning even my non-tech friends are able to use it straight off the bat.
I’m no MacHead (My main computer is running Vista/XP), but software sells the hardware.
Something Samsung, Nokia or Motorola still at present are not able to match.
